What a wonderful Easter Weekend...

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend. Patrick's Paw Paw B (LeAnna's Dad) came to visit us on Friday morning and didn't leave till after lunch today! This means that Patrick had the complete undivided attention of his Paw Paw for two full days! And let me tell you they both enjoyed it!

Friday - Patrick and I had to run to the pharmacy. Just as we would have it, we timed Paw Paw's arrival just right - we pull in the drive way and Patrick yells Paw Paw! Well to start things off we had to get dressed and head to the swing set for some swinging and slidin'!
Patrick has several new things up his sleeve now. His newest phrase - "Oh Man!" He will do it when something isn't going his way. It is quite comical. Also, one of the many things my dad helped fix around the house included a ladder for Patrick's new swing set that his Uncle Russell helped his daddy build last weekend. (more on that in the next entry) It came with a rope ladder and a rock wall - both of which Patrick can't quite climb now. So my dad fixed Patrick a traditional ladder to climb. He just about has it mastered. Yesterday, Patrick climbed up and was preparing to slide. I looked at him and said "Ready, Set, GO!" He looked at me and said " A minute." He looked off with this serious look then turned to me and said "O.K." and then pushed off and slid down. The boy is growing up too fast!

As I mentioned, my dad helped us take care of a few little chores while he was here. He built Patrick a ladder for his swing set, he fixed our gate on our deck from sagging. He cut an opening out on our deck banister so Moseley can come and go as he pleases while the gate is closed. And last but not least, he switched the latch and closure on our double gate. While dad was working on the double gate, Patrick decided he needed to supervise and help out.

As I mentioned earlier...Patrick had a few new tricks up his sleeve. Besides his budding vocabulary, he is starting to Master Potty Training. We are by no means "potty trained" but we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Patrick has mastered standing up and perfecting his aim at least twice a day since Friday. He even told us once that he had to go potty and went! His future wife shall thank me because I am even teaching him to lower the seat! :-) So progress on the home front!

As for Easter Sunday - The Easter bunny did come last night. He brought Patrick the 101 dalmatians movie, a 3-D sticker set, a basketball goal that suctions to the window, and some Blue Peeps (what is Easter without Peeps!). His favorite, the plastic easter eggs that were decorated as sports balls. They were even empty, and still he loved them. We went to church while my dad cooked a wonderful dinner. We sat in the cry room since the nursery was closed. Well during Catholic Easter Mass, we all renew our baptismal vows. Patrick was so cute and chimed in just when he was suppose to after the first two vows with "I do." Lunch was delicious - brisket, homemade potato salad, and baked beans - all topped off with a carrot cake. Thank you daddy!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! Hope everyone else can say the same!

Love
LeAnna, Matthew, and Patrick
