He's 8 weeks today....

...and his mother can't believe that she was on a plane this time 8 weeks ago flying to meet her precious little miracle. My time has flown by. If he is 8 weeks today that means that I only have 4 more weeks till I go back to work. I sure am going to miss the little guy. Luckily I am only 10 minutes from his daycare, so I can pick him up by 5 each day.

Well this past weekend we had our final shower. I must say that Matthew, Patrick, and I are very blessed to have such great friends and family. The kindness and generousity has left us speechless. The support and love we have received (and continue to receive) brings tears to our eyes. Thank you everyone.

On Sunday we celebrated what a GREAT father Patrick has. Matthew is so wonderful with Patrick. He comes home from work and he immediately takes over. I think it kills him when I call him at work and let him know that Patrick is just a smilin' and he misses it. He is absolutely the best dad a kid could ask for.

One of Matthew's father's day gifts was SLEEP. Now those of you who know Matthew (and myself) well know that SLEEP is an absolute precious gift. It has become an even more precious gift this past 8 weeks. Patrick and I loaded up the mini-van and headed south to visit my mom and stepdad at their new camp. Along the way we picked up my sister Angela, AKA - Nana, and my niece Katherine, AKA Patrick's Big Sister. We had so much fun and it was nice to see my mom's new vacation spot. Angela took over babysitting duties and I went fishing with my mom, two neices (Katherine and Angelle), and my stepdad. I didn't do too bad. I was able to bait my own hook (with shrimp - no worms or minnows) and caught a few speckled trout. My wonderful stepdad cleaned and fileted them for me to bring home along with some redfish they caught. I can't wait to cook them. So we returned to home sweet home after about a 4.5 hour drive yesterday. So Matthew's biggest gift on Father's day - three nights of uninterrupted sleep.

Hope everyone is doing well. We have our first round of shots on Tuesday, so check back to see just how big our little man has gotten and how he and his mom and dad survived.

Love ya
LE
