Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. We have been quite busy around here lately. Here is a brief update on where we have been and where we are going....
November - Patrick aquired RSV and now has infantile asthma . This was all the week of Thanksgiving. Luckily Matthew has a good bit of sick leave available and my mom graciously came up for two days to take care of her "Patta Cake". We are now on breathing treatments twice a day till then end of March!
December - Patrick now has four teeth total - two on top and two on bottom. We sang "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!" and what arrives just a few days before Christmas - His two front teeth! We went to my hometown for our last Christmas away from home. We decided that Santa doesn't travel to Grandma's house so from now own we are starting our own family traditions. It will be difficult though. I will miss what I have known for 28 years...but seeing his precious smile on Christmas morning will be worth it's weight in gold! Patrick still had his runny nose but was feeling better. We rang in the New Year in Matt's hometown. We attended a wedding reception for a close friend and then rang in the New Year surrounded by all of our close friends. Patrick was an absolute doll at the reception. Everyone commented on how good he is....when someone would ask "Is he always this good?" I would simply reply "yes, unless he is sick or you are holding his bottle!" It was fun looking back how much things had changed in 365 days....all of which we would not change one bit!
Oh, and some firsts for Patrick in December - We began doing the army crawl the week before Christmas...and two days before Christmas our first word - MaMa!!! followed by "Bye Bye". Also, Patrick started eating table food (mushed up really well) at daycare. He loves everything but lima beans and mandarain oranges.
January - Patrick now has a really bad yeast infection.....yes boys get them too! We are battling it like crazy...and he is eating tons of yogurt! Patrick also started pulling up from his stomach this weekend. So we have started baby proofing and picking things up that he may find interesting. We must go to the ENT on Wednesday to get his right ear looked at....apparently there is some wax blocking his tube - which the Dr was more concerned about than the yeast/thrush infection (yes his mouth and throat was covered in thrush...though this didn't keep him from gobbling up anything put near his mouth!). He is also up to the 23lb mark! Our little boy is a chunk!
Hope everyone had a great holiday and wonderful new year. Here's hoping that your year is filled with as many blessings as our 2006!
Love

Thank you for the long overdue update! You act as though having a baby keeps you busy or something! ;) Hate to hear Patrick has had to humps to get over, but it sounds like he is so happy! We cannot wait to meet him! I love your mom's nickname for him - "Patta Cake"! :) And about establishing your own holiday traditions, good for you! We might go visit family sometime in December to celebrate Christmas, but I think we'll be staying at home during Christmas too! Again, thanks for the update! I loved reading it!
Yay for the update!!! But, I'm so sorry that little (ha!) Patrick has had these problems. Poor thing!!! As someone who has lived her whole life with asthma, I know it's a pain but it is very doable. Hopefully he'll grow out of it - that would be great! Call me if you need anything!
