Well on Thursday afternoon it appeared that the change in weather had brought Patrick a runny nose and water eyes. So I grab one of the new pre-filled Benadryl's (love them!) and then it was off to bed.
Friday was a beautiful day weather wise, but crummy for Patrick. We woke up with watery eyes and still a runny nose. Well Friday morning was also our 18 month picture appointment. There was no way to re-schedule due to our photographer being booked till next year (amazing how everyone tries to cram in pictures in time for Christmas gifts...imagine that!) so the more I looked at his sad water eyes, the more I noticed the redness in his right. I was thinking...this isn't allergies, this is PINK EYE! After a quick mother diagnosis from my neighbor, April, we called for an appointment after pictures and headed off to pictures. Which he did so well. Our photographer said his eyes didn't appear that bad and that she can touch things up. I am not too upset about it all because this is a true representation of what was going on with him around his 18 month birthday - PINK EYE.
So after pictures we went to the doctor and it was confirmed that he had pink eye in BOTH EYES! I asked about the runny nose and he said since he had no other symptoms that just to let it runs it course. By that afternoon we were running a 101 temp. I gave him some medicine and thought - he sure is drooling a lot, must be those final two teeth coming in. Saturday brought more fever and less of an appetite. My dad and stepmom came to visit and were HUGE helps due to the fact that Patrick had only a 20 minute nap. So I had determine that we were definitely seeing the doctor on Sunday. Our appointment revealed a sinus infection. So we got some more medicine. Poor Patrick, every time he turns around his mom is trying to put another dose of medicine in him.
By the way, severe drooling could also be a sign of a sore throat in babies/toddlers. Learn something new everyday.
We went to school today only to come home around 3:30 with a temp of 101.9. Since we have been running fever since Friday night controlled only by medicine, we are staying home tomorrow and seeing our doctor tomorrow. Hopefully Wednesday will be better!
Thanks for checking in....oh and when we went to the dr, they told us that Patrick has packed on another 2 lbs since our last visit....we are now weighing in at 32 lbs....guess that is why I am not too concerned that his appetite isn't up to par...I think we have a lb or two to spare! LOL!
Oh, and the baby bed is officially outta here! My dad returned it to it's rightful owners. Patrick's room looks so empty!
Here is hoping to a better & fever free Tuesday!

Poor baby! I hope he feels better soon. And the big boy bed...WOW! I am hoping Emma stays in the crib another year. Yikes, they grow up so fast.
So sorry to hear that Patrick is under the weather -- hope he is feeling better soon. And we can't wait to see the 18 month pictures!
Wesley sends his hugs and well-wishes to his friend, Patrick. :)
