Our first week...

...we all survived our first week in our new room. Morning drop-offs are a little difficult, but we are told he settles down and is just fine. He loves all the new space, toys (we have large legos in the new room...so Patrick is having a ton of fun with his "blocks") and activities. In this new room we get to see Patrick's artistic side daily. With all of the art work we are bringing home, I am going to have to buy a bigger box! Patrick loves his room and his new teachers. Since we have outgrown the largest size of Pampers, we have moved on to strictly pull ups (nighttime calls for "overnight" pull ups courtesy of Huggies). Now I am even more determined to potty train - my checking account is quickly being depleted! They will bring Patrick with the other little boy who is also potty training, but they said they are going to wait a week or two till he adjusts. We only got bit once this week for fighting over a toy. And we only bit one person this week (apparently he was so excited to see his best bud at recess that a love bite was in order! His best bud hasn't moved up yet, but should be following us soon!) We can tell a difference in Patrick's vocabulary. He was a big talker before we moved up, but now it seems even more clear and many more words. He has learned the cause/effect of throwing his cup down. When he drops it he says "Spill" and then is not happy till we pretend to clean up (if nothing has spilled). It is quite funny. We are also learning to count. He will say "one", "two", then jumps to "six" and "eight". He will repeat the numbers if we count with him. When we reach to ten, he claps and yells "Yeah!". I can't wait till we move past ten and he realizes there are a lot more numbers than 10!

We still love our blue tape, but it is not as big of an obsession as Higgly Town Heroes! Thank goodness for our dvr and the fact the show comes on twice a day. Patrick isn't in to much tv, but this is one show he will sit down and watch. The story lines are only 15 minutes long and the characters are pretty cute and tolerable!

Since the warm weather has put us in the mood of Spring fever and because it has been since October since Patrick got his last pair of tennis shoes, we headed to Ulmer's to get some new ones. Well each foot is measuring close to a 7 (one is slightly longer than the other) so it was time for new shoes (our current pair is 7 xw). Well as I had guessed - our feet still measure XW. This is quite a problem when stores don't seem to carry 8 xw in stock. So we ordered our shoes and some sandals for the spring. I explained to the lady we have been waiting for over a year for our feet to thin out so we can wear some of the other cute brands (new balance for example) but no such luck. She said by the summer we should be there (I didn't have the heart to tell her that is what they told me last February!) Luckily I have some cute crocs that I purchased at a garage sale that he can piddle around the house and town in (we can't wear them to school).

Hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather!

Love
LeAnna, Matthew, and Patrick

What a great update! I know Wesley will be super excited to move up w/Patrick. Every night I ask Wesley if he sees Patrick, and he says, "Atrick" (or "Atchy). Too cute. :)

I'm so glad to hear that Patrick is enjoying his new room! I'm sure that he made lots of new friends in no time!
It is too funny that he makes you clean up the "spills."
Hope to see you all soon!

Just for the record, Wesley can now say Patrick. :)
