We received the wonderful news on Monday that Patrick will be leaving the Creeper room and moving up to the Toddler room *Young 2's*. We are very excited to be joining his future wife Nora. We are going to miss Ms. Mildred, Ms. Sharetta, and Ms. Shanedra, but Patrick is ready to claim some new territory - here's hoping that moving up and now being the youngest in the class will deflate the "big man on campus" attitude and the actions that have caused him to be nick named "Rocky" by his Papa and Maw Maw Kat. We are going to miss all of our little friends in our room, but know it won't be long before they will be following suit and moving on up with us.
Second, today we had to take Patrick to the hospital for a little outpatient procedure to ensure that this reflux issue isn't something else. The doctor said she did not see any visible signs of problems other than GERD (aka reflux) but the mini biopsies she took would tell us more in a week. Please say a little prayer. But we think he is just going to need a higher dose of meds...at least that is what we are praying for. As anyone who has seen or knows Patrick...this little reflux monster has not stopped our consumption of yummy tasty food one bit. As the GI doctor said on our first consultation - it is obvious he is not in pain due to how "healthy" he is. The anesthesiologist asked what he needed to list in the program (boxing) for his stats...he was quite impressed with his size...especially when I mentioned you might need more than one nurse to hold him down if he planned on doing his IV while he was awake (which they gave him some gas first then put it in - thank goodness).
Third title mentions our newest craze around the house - blue painter's tape.
Now Patrick's friend from school - Wes Man is obsessed with fruit & Elmo. Patrick's obsession is blue painter's tape. It all started over the Christmas holidays when my dad and stepmom were babysitting. Patrick found a roll of it at my sister's house and he thought it was a cool toy....showed it to his Paw Paw...who had the same sentiments. Fast forward to last week and coming home to new wood floors with blue tape all over them. Patrick yell's "TAPE" and begins to pull it all up. Then he found the roll and insisted on having tape. He says "TAPE" and sticks out both hands for a piece (we are all about balance). So now the roll goes with us everywhere. He gets two small pieces before he goes to bed and a couple throughout the day...it does help with drop off in the mornings at school. We even brought it with us to the hospital and the lady at the admissions desk heard him say "TAPE" and saw his dad pull out the roll and gave him his two pieces. She said "what's with the tape"...I mentioned our new obsession and she quickly smiled and said "and I thought I had seen it all." So if anyone would like ideas for Patrick's birthday - one roll of blue painter's tape approximately $3 at your local hardware store! Got to love kids!
Thanks for checking in....
Love
