Happy Birthday to Mommy!

This weekend was a whirlwind tour home. Our little nephew, Ben, turned 1 on January 29th and we drove home to celebrate his 1st Birthday. Patrick had a blast seeing and playing with all of his cousins. He had a lot of fun eating some yummy cupcakes. After everyone left, my parents and grandparents stayed around to eat some very yummy homemade meatballs and spaghetti that my mom made for my sister and I's birthday dinner. See my sister and I are 2 years and 3 days apart - so we have always celebrated our birthdays together...and now we celebrate with Ben too! After eating a yummy dinner, my sister was so thoughtful and brought out my traditional birthday cake - King Cake! Patrick helped me blow out my candle and sang happy birthday to me. He has his own version - let me share...

Got to love him! I received some very nice gifts from my parents and sister. My mom found a box of all of my old sorority letter shirts, swap shirts, and bid day shirts and had a quilt and throw made. My dad gave me a purse that caught my eye last time I was home, and my sister gave me a beautiful plaque to hang in my bedroom.

Today we made the trek back home and celebrated my birthday we our dear friends - Emily, John and their son Andrew. Matthew picked up one of the new Pizza Hut Lasagnas and a Marble Slab cake made with my two favorite ingredients - Chocolate and Peanut Butter! It was super yummy. I also got a very nice gift from Patrick and his daddy - a watch. I was in need of a new one and they did such a good job picking it out. I love it!
