Bedtime stories...

Matthew was giving Patrick a bath tonight. As I came in the bathroom when he was getting him out, Matthew told me - "mommy, did you know that God is the good guy and he gets all the bad guys?" I told Patrick ' you are exactly right.' (Matthew then discreetly said ' I didn't tell him about who the REAL bad guy is...didn't think we needed to go into that yet...' of which I agreed.)

So we proceed with teeth brushing and getting on our pj's. Patrick declares he wants to hear a story about God and a bad guy. So I pull out his my 'First Bible' which had two page stories from throughout the bible in simplistic terms. I told him that Daddy could read him a story about God from his bible. Patrick then says "Well that is not going to work for me! I want to hear a story about God and a bad guy....I want to talk about it!"

Matthew then quickly flipped through the bible and found the story about David and Goliath. We explained that was a story about good guy vs bad guy. He settled for that!

Boy reading bedtime stories is getting a little bit more difficult!
