But there is some light shining down...well on our situation but there were no lights to be found at our doctor visit. Just as we finished up our sonogram and headed upstairs the bottom dropped out of the sky and caused the lights to go out at the doctor's office. They had back up emergency lights...but those didn't work in the bathroom nor in the exam rooms. So by flashlight Dr. C did a quick belly measurement and listened for Baby Williams heart beat then we headed to her office - which had windows that allowed us to see each other's faces - to discuss our progress.
The hematoma has shrunk some and solidified. The doctor said that if this had not happened and they did a sonogram today she might not have noticed it. She thinks we are out of the woods. So that is good news. We had a discussion about going back to work and if things continue on this great path the rest of the month I could be back at work working half days 3 days a week by September! Woo to the HOO! She said that I could add a little activity this week and I will come back next week to see how things are doing...if good then I have permission to go to Patrick's Meet the Teacher meeting next Thursday. She said 'Now don't go do anything crazy now.' She also said that I could attend Patrick's martial arts class tomorrow to observe as long as it was inside (we have had real temps of 100+ degrees this weeks with heat indexes of over 110!).
Baby William is measuring right on target with his due date. The sonogram estimates his weight at 13 ozs and boy is the boy limber! He practically had his toes in his mouth! I must say I do enjoy the weekly glimpses of him. Our sonographer is awesome as once we get the "let's see how the hematoma is doing" part over we get to check on him and get some more pictures (and who wouldn't love those!). She has the absolute best bedside manner ever! She even told Dr. C that she feels like she is the one having the baby and is so happy to see things progressing.
So there you have it folks...I may just have less than 3 weeks left to my sentence!
