When we started the adoption process, we also went ahead and decided on who would be Patrick's Godparents. Matthew and I are both Catholic and we knew who we wanted our son's Godparent's to be. It was an easy thing for us. We chose my sister, Angela, and Matthew's brother, Malcolm.
Well when you are expecting child number two you don't have as much time on your hands to sit and ponder about all the things you need to take care of and plan for as you do for child number one...life is crazy busy. So with William's arrival three weeks early, we had not yet marked off our to-do list - select Godparents (and hope to goodness they will be willing to take on the honor). So last weekend once things settled, I mentioned to Matthew that we had not selected Godparents for William and we needed to do that soon. Within just a few minutes we both knew who we wanted to ask. Well I am glad to now be able to announce that William has Godparents! We are very proud that Jodi, my step-sister, and Charles, Matthew's dear friend from his childhood, have agreed to take on the responsibility of William's Godparents.
We are planning on having William Christened in our church between Mardi Gras and Easter.
We are so blessed that both of our sons will have a great set of Godparents to help guide them through life's trials and tribulations.
