Patrick's Big Day....

....and he slept right through it all. On April 27, 2006, our son was born to us. On August 12, 2006, he was born in Christ. Our son was Christened on Saturday in front of 31 of his closest family and friends who traveled near and far. It was a beautiful ceremony and he slept right through it all even when Father poured the Holy water on his forehead....not even a flinch.

He fell asleep not long after we got settled in the sanctuary and got his gown on (and it still fit!). The gown was originally made for my mother's oldest sister over 50 years ago. Since then all of my grandmother's children and grandchildren have worn it as well as several other relatives. By default I inherit the gown because I am the only grandchild that is a practicing Catholic. So now I am putting it up for Patrick's children. I was so happy he got to wear it and carry on the tradition. Father was great despite the heat and technical difficulties. Our good friend Chuck took tons of great pictures for us and our other good friend Marcus filmed it. For those friends and family members who could not travel if you would like to see what you missed, just email us and we will burn you a copy to a dvd.

After the ceremony, we all ventured to our home where we shared in some yummy cake and punch. Matthew and I were so thankful for everyone coming so far to share in a very special event. Patrick was introduced to more cousins this weekend that we hadn't met and other members of our family couldn't believe how much he had grown.

Thanks again to everyone for sharing in our very special day!
