So Patrick (and his parents) survived his first surgery. It literally took less than 10 minutes from the time they wheeled him back till the Dr. came and said all done! He said his right ear was looking worse than the left today (it was oppisite less than 48 hours ago) which confirmed to everyone that tubes were definitely needed since he has had three strong Rocephin shots this week and his ear infection still got worse!
We had the procedure done at the Children's hospital in our home town. I am a child who spent a many a days in a Children's hospital where I grew up so I already knew how wonderful they were, but you don't truly appreciate it until you are a parent. The staff (from the admissions clerk to the surgeon) were so nice, explained everything, asked us several times if we had any questions, etc. Thank goodness we don't have to drive far for such a wonderful facility.
I just want to say thanks to Julie C. for checking up on us and brining Patrick his first Blair Bear (Dog) and his precious t-shirt. We can't wait for Patrick to meet his new playmate(s). :-)
Thanks everyone for your calls, emails, and prayers!
Here's hoping this fixes our problem and we can break our every other Sunday habit of visiting the after hours clinic!
Love
