...a few weeks ago I was picking up Patrick and noticed a big American flag hanging from the shelf in his room. His teacher said they were learning the Pledge of Allegiance. So every so often while having our daily chat about our days - aka bath time - I would ask him if he could say the Pledge. We usually said a few of the lines, get some words mixed up and finished with "for all".
Fast forward to this weekend. We decided that since the Gulf of Mexico was free of any storms we would venture down to see my family - celebrate some birthdays we missed thanks to Gustav and Ike - and even venture to see Mike the Tiger again since our Tigers were on the road at Auburn. While we were there visiting with family I asked Patrick if he could say the Pledge for everyone. He stopped and said it word for word, clear as can be, as if he was on stage for the whole world! I was quite proud of him...and it was funny watching him saying it - you would think the child was accepting an award!
So to all of the September birthdays - Russell, Dad, Katherine, and Ellen Marie - Happy Birthday!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Love
