...you debate, and debate, and debate what to ask Santa for...and the one thing your child already has ( and has forgotten about) is the one thing he is IN LOVE WITH!
Last Friday one of Patrick's friends, Cooper, came over to play. Matthew pulled out the el cheapo generic magna doodle and started drawing. Well Patrick noticed and now that is his favorite thing to do. We punched holes in the el cheapo (my child does have some forceful ways and was very forceful when drawing rain with the wand) so I had to purchase a replacement....we are trying to learn the concept of soft and hard so it doesn't happen again.
So I purchased two small ones - one for the house and one for the car. They are the perfect size for him to carry around. He loves drawing - and to our amazement can even draw a circle when asked! So this does save us money in the Crayola Wonder Markers department, saves paper (helping the Earth), keeps him from tearing up his new keyboard (it has a paint function), and prevents works of art on our walls, floors, and clothes!
So yes, our favorite toy is not the Green Dinosaur, nor our soccer ball, it is the magna doodle we have had for over 1 year! My mom would say "he just didn't know he had it due to all those toys in that room! It was lost!" (Mom, you are right and I am trying to declutter and purge in '09!)

every once in a while, I flip the toy boxes over and move the toys from the bottom to the top...it's great!! lovin' the new header...
That is TOO funny...makes you realize how frivolous it is to spend a lot of money, huh? ;)
Wesley got one of those from a great-grandparent. He loves it. I don't so much...b/c he is always asking me to draw complicated things. "No, Wesley, I do not know how to draw Elmo with teeth."
