Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful time ringing in the New Year. We however played it low key. We went over to Patrick's best friend's house - Tyler- and shared in some wonderful dinner, watched the 1st half of the Chik Fil A Bowl (Geaux Tigers!), and allowed the boys to enjoy some wonderful playtime. We were home by 9 and all sleeping by 11:30 (we rang in the new year with New York!).
So as I reflect on my 1/1/2008 post, I realized that some things did get done (well almost).
Let's look at that list:
1. Big Boy Undies by end of year....well major milestones were made - our pull up purchases are way down. We have gone to big boy underwear during the day and pull ups for naps and nighttime. We still have accidents (avg 1 a day) and we still are not vocal in telling us he has to go (though we are making strides in that area where #2 is concerned), but we don't fight it and I figured we are doing good being he is a boy and is only 32 months old. It has been a lot harder on mom than son, but she is coming a long way too!
2.Money diet - this was going well till 4/4/08 when a tornado decided to change things up along with the shifting of our foundation - new roof, fresh paint throughout, and 5 pilings later - a resolution to continue into the new year.
3. Toy diet - this has worked somewhat well. We do have only one play room now and we do try to move things out during the year...but more needs to be done! We did decide that since Baby Jesus received three gifts that is really all Patrick needed too! So I would say that we made strides in that area too!
4. No short order cooking - this we did follow. The only time this rule isn't followed - on fend for your self nights - I mean he hasn't mastered cooking his own dinner - he is only 2!
5. Mom and Dad exercising more - this has happened for mom (my job is a great motivator) but not so much for Dad. We are a little more active thanks to the 2 yr old taking up residence in our home!
So we made some strides, but some definitely need to continue. Here is our 2009 list...
1. Money diet - must continue!
2. Keep on riding the potty train!
3. Keep on trying to keep moving more!
4. Declutter, Declutter, Declutter!
Hope everyone has had some success and will continue to strive for your best in 2009!
Love

Great reflections and upcoming goals...I enjoyed that post.
LeAnna,Matt, and Patrick,
Ya'll did so much more in 2008. Most importantly, you worked hard to practice your faith in God. You were both attentive and caring to your family and friends, and continue to be good citizens in your community. Most of all you have been loving parents to my beautiful grandson. Keep up with the your exercise routine. Wishing you a wonderful 2009. Love Mom P.S. Tell Matt next time I declutter for ya'll, I'll remember to make a list of where I put stuff.
