Good Bye 2009 - Hello 2010

Tomorrow is not only a new year for us to start with a 'clean slate', but a new decade. Tomorrow I will reflect on our 2009 goals and what we hope that the Lord has planned for us in 2010...you know we can make a plan, but God laughs when we do, because He is the only one with a plan!

I thought I would close out 2009's year of posts with an email that was written by a dear friend of mind. Completely her words and thoughts...and I asked if I could post them on our family blog. I really like what she had to say about yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Thank you T.T.!

I'm no Andy Rooney or anything. I'm just me. I have thoughts like Andy Rooney...I'm just not famous....and that's okay. But since I like you, I want to share with you my Andy Rooney like thoughts...that are completely my own. :)
Often, yesterday involved planning for today, which too often results in anxiety and stress. THEN, Today arrives. You realize that all you worried about yesterday was unnecessary. And whether you realize it or not, Today is always the most important day of your life. Today is the day to be YOU - first and foremost, for personal fulfillment AND of course, to show the world what you're all about. Also, Today is the day to begin working on becoming the person you'd like to be, an improved version of your current self. You can make more of a difference Today than any other day. You can talk about tomorrow, but you can DO Today. And while Today builds on tomorrow and determines how your tomorrow is, Today will become pretty insignificant as tomorrow arrives, comes to an end, and another day begins. In no time, you will probably forget about most - if not all - of the happenings of Today. So while Today is here, live it like it's your most important day...because it is. Yes, tomorrow will eventually become Today, but Today is NOW. Tomorrow is a day you are anticipating and not yet experiencing. It is Today that is 100% real. Today is the day. And the beautiful thing is that when Today expires, there's another one to be had. When one day we don't make it to tomorrow, at least you'll know you had a day like Today. (My big resolution for 2010 is to stop smoking pot. Just kidding! Don't smoke a thing - never have. This is just me - at 31 years old with very clear thinking. For some reason, I feel experienced in this thing called life. Although, I know I still have SO much to learn.) Rest in peace, 2009. Hi 2010. My name is ______. I've heard some great things about you. I hear you can offer me opportunities that I've never had before. Okay! I'm ready to sign the contract. 365 days right? Let's do it! We're gonna be great partners. I just know it! :)

Hope you and your families had a safe and happy New Year's! Here's to creating many more memories in 2010!
