As I write this I contemplate what has happened in our lives over the last 10 years, you know the last decade. Let's see....I graduated undergraduate school in 2000. Obtained my Master's degree, bought my first home, started my first professional job, got engaged, and officially became an aunt all in 2001. Got married to my wonderful husband in 2002. We sold our home and built a new one in 2003. Passed the CPA exam and switched jobs in 2004. Decided to have a child in 2005 and began the process of adoption. Celebrated the birth of our son in 2006. Sold our home and moved a few streets up in 2007. Patrick began his athletic career in 2008 beginning with Soccer. Passed my CIA exam and Patrick began PreK3 in 2009. Wow....what a difference a decade can make in your life!
So as I have done the past few years, let's revisit our 2009 resolutions and see how far we have come in the last year....
So we made some strides, but some definitely need to continue. Here is our 2009 list...
1. Money diet - made some progress...but more to go!
2. Keep on riding the potty train! Glad to officially report we are a diaper free/pull-up free home! Woohoo!!!!!
3. Keep on trying to keep moving more! We are more active than 2008 but let's just say there is much room for improvement.
4. Declutter, Declutter, Declutter! - we have made some strides, but this is our big focus this year.
So for 2010 our mantra will be "Less is More!"
1. Money Diet - Continue this...we have made some strides but we are focusing hard on this as we have made the commitment to start paying for P's college fund through our state's 529 plan. We are also hoping to take P to the 'happiest place on earth' in October so we have some saving goals in mind! Less Debt = More Freedom.
2. Declutter and get ORGANIZED! A clean clutter free home is a much happier and stress free home for us...so this is a big focus for me! Less Clutter = More Happiness
3. Keep on Moving! We have made some strides in the past year, but we need MORE MOVEMENT in our home! Maybe I can get past day 1 of the 30 day challenge on the Wii!
4. To begin the process of expanding our family - by the end of 2010 we hope to have started the process of expanding our family! (more details to follow in February when we decide how we are going to go about this...so stay tuned! 2010 is going to be a wonderful year!)
So how did you do? What are your goals for this decade/year?

we are still in pull ups at night. i don't know what to do. my brother told me their pediatrician said it's a matter of convenience for the kids....and to just take pull ups away at night (explaining it all first). honestly, i think abby could do it, but izzy? there's NO WAY. we have our 4 yr checkup in a week or so and i'm planning to as our pediatrician, but i wanted to congratulate you on a great decade and making so much progress with patrick. he's amazing! Happy New Year!
