Uncle Charles and Aunt Mae Mae - Don't get too excited. Those are not the Dawgs I am talking about!
Bulldog Number 1 - Drooling more than a slobbering bulldog! Teeth are no where in sight! But that isn't keeping this boy from drenching a bib, blowing spit bubbles, and trying to eat a fist while drinking a bottle! Speaking of eating...yes we have begun feeding this little one baby food. We got the go ahead last week at our 4 month check up. First up on the spoon - rice cereal - it was a NO GO as we were up with tummy aches all that night. So under the advice of a friend from work we moved on to oatmeal - HUGE DIFFERENCE! After a few days of oatmeal twice a day, we moved on to carrots, and currently we are trying out squash. So far so good. Though despite eating a container of his vegetables with a tablespoon of dried oatmeal mixed in and a 4 oz bottle before bed we are STILL NOT sleeping through the night! Our best night is an 8 hour stretch...which may occur once a week. But we wouldn't have it any other way!
Bulldog Number 2 - This spring Patrick is playing U6 soccer at our local YMCA. His coach is in denial that our team colors represent those of Ole Miss and the team has decided that despite their colors they are going to be called the Dawgs! (The mascot for their coach's favorite team - Mississippi State.) It is quite comical to the other teams. But the boys...they don't care! They could be wearing Pink and they would still call themselves the Dawgs! And this year, Patrick is just that on the soccer field - a bull dog. His coach has picked up on the fact that he is more of a defensive player and has placed him as goalie (though we aren't technically suppose to play that position in this league) and Patrick has done great! He has blocked several goals and is able to focus on what is happening in order to keep his opponent from scoring on him. We are very proud of our lil' Dawg!
Today was a little exciting around here as we had tornadoes all around us. This video below is of a tornado moving across the local reservoir just two miles north of us.
Luckily we had no damage, both boys were safe at school, and Matthew and I were safe at work. Some of our friends in Clinton, MS were not so lucky. We are praying for them and hope that they are able to repair/rebuild quickly.
