Patrick had his five year check up today...and to say we were looking forward to this day was a huge understatement! You see there are shots that are required for a child to enter Kindergarten and these shots could be given at age 4 or 5. Well at Patrick's 4 year old check up I asked if we could break them up and get two then and two when he turned 5. Dr. Craig said he was not giving him any of the shots till he was 5. I figured he had medical reasoning for this and said O.K. Well the problem with that was Patrick remembered Dr. Craig saying that he wouldn't get shots till he turned 5. For a whole year we have been hearing Patrick say he didn't want to turn 5 because he didn't want to get his shots! Fast forward a year...and our day had arrived.
I promised him that after we got his shots we would go to a local frozen yogurt shop where you fix your own cup with all the fixings you want. This seem to make him happy. We met Dr. Craig and went over all of the usual things at your birthday check up and Patrick checked out just perfect. He weighs 46 pounds (over the 95 percentile) and is 46 3/4 inches tall (90 percentile). Then came the nurse with the shots. In a matter of seconds it was over and he informed the nurse it really didn't hurt and that it just stung a little. Could have fooled us with those big alligator tears! But we grabbed our shot records to drop off at his new school to complete registration and headed to Sweet CC's for some yummy frozen yogurt! So proud of our little boy who is getting so big!
We are super excited about our Warrior Birthday Party tomorrow!
