For a kid who can't breathe through his nose...he sure is a happy booger (no pun intened!) We made it back home from our annual family trip with Matthew's family. Only his dad and sister's family were able to come this year...but we had a great time. We decided to move things to the mountains this year instead of the beach. It had been over 20 years since I had been to this wonderful vacation spot and it was a lot of fun. Papa T rented a large cabin for us and we all enjoyed the beautiful views. Because there was a gas log fireplace in our room that had it's pilot light lit constantly (we couldn't figure out how to turn it off) our room had zero humidity...which is a problem for a baby...humidity good--dry air bad! So add that on top of going in and out of heat to A/C several days = stuffy nose. It sounds worse than it is, but our little trooper just kept on a smiling! We did go and get a cool mist humidifier...which now we have two for road trips - thank you Aunt MC....some saline solution and a suction bulb. Now most kids (especially infants) are not huge fans of the suction bulb (who would enjoy getting something shoved up their nose and then suction)...but not our little trooper...I suction and he smiles and giggles...which makes MOM feel not so bad about torturing him!
After a 10 hour ride...we are all safe and glad to be home. We enjoyed our visits, including our one night stay with P's Aunt Amy (thank you for your wonderful hospitality and yummy dinner!).
I will post Monday night once we survive our first day at daycare!
Love ya
