What to do???

Ok. So today we went and had Patrick's three month portraits done at a wonderful photographer's studio. I brought the family Christening gown (that is over 50 years old) and a sweet soft baby blue bubble that Matthew's stepsister gave him. Now just to give you a little history of our weather lately ----there has been VERY LITTLE RAIN here since the bundle of joy has arrived....but not today. We pull into the driveway of the photographer's home and studio and low and behold - it is a DOWN POUR!!! Now this is the first time we have been here....and it appeared the studio was a nice little walk from her home....so what's a mom to do.....first I thanked my lucky stars that I had a son and not a daughter...their hair is a lot easier to fix when wet. Second...grab the umbrella and make a dash for it. Luckily the photographer was a sweetheart and helped us navigate so his outfits and us weren't drenched.

Patrick was an absolute doll! He looked so sweet and innocent in his pictures and she did an awesome job of catching his smiles. As soon as I get our proofs I will scan and put one on here to show the world our angel.

Now while we were making outfit changes I noticed that my poor child's arms barely were fitting through the sleeves of his Christening gown. Now this is not just any gown, this is a gown that is over 50 years old and all of my grandmother's children and grandchildren have worn it with an occassional relative borrowing it. Well since I am the only grandchild that is a practicing Catholic it is mine to inherit by default. This gown means the world to me and to have my son continue the tradition means even more....however, the Christening is over a month a way....what am I going to do?????????? I am still hoping that maybe his arms won't grow much and that we can stick it out for the 30 minute ceremony and some pictures....oh what am I going to do??????

So two revelations...one that my son is just the most perfect angel (hey I am a mom I can gloat!) and two....he is growing way too fast! (His other outfit today was a 6 month size....and we are only 10 weeks old!)

I feel ya, Leanna!!! I've had the exact same problem with some of Jason's baby clothes that his mom gave to me for Noah. Babies are just bigger now than they used to be. My only suggestion (because the gown will need altering for Patrick to be able to wear it in a month), is to take it to a seamstress. I wish I knew of one, but I don't. My "suggestion" is really more of a commiseration. But I do think you'll need to have it altered to fit in a month! Can't wait to see the 3 month pics!
