Well he hasn't trotted outside the U.S., but in a mere 10 weeks he has flown on a total of 6 airplane rides and has touched done in 5 states (UT, TX, LA, MS and GA). In three more weeks he will add AL and TN to his list of states!
We flew to Savannah, GA for his Papa T's 70th birthday (Matthew's Dad) this past weekend. It was suppose to be a surprise, but his dad found out last week but was still so happy to see all of his kids, and most of his grandkids and children's spouses make the trek to celebrate his 70th. We flew out on Friday morning and returned yesterday. Patrick slept the entire way on all four flights. He is an exceptional flyer!
While we were in Savannah, Patrick decided that he would not be stingy and shared his smiles with everyone who would speak to him (which was literally everyone - who can resist those cute little chubby cheeks?) He decided now that he likes laying on the floor to play and will lay on his back and talk, laugh, and smile for hours. He continued his 7 hour stretches of sleep eventhough he wasn't in his usual environment. He is just the happiest baby!
While we were getting off one plane to catch our connecting flight, one of the flight attendants told Matthew after I passed with Patrick - "He is adorable. Looks just like you!" Matthew smiled and said "Yeap. Thank you!" When he told me I chuckled. We are very open with everyone that Patrick is adopted, but honestly believe in our hearts that he was hand picked by the good Lord above for us. Even our friends who know our story tell us they can't believe how much he looks like us. We have many angels in heaven that look out for us and with the thousands of prayers that went up, I am not surprised how lucky we are.
And being in the spirit of the 4th, I would like to say THANK YOU to all of the men and women who are serving, have served, or have died protecting our freedom. Matthew, Patrick, and I can't express how grateful we are to you for protecting the country we so love. THANK YOU. And if you see a veteran or soldier or widow of one today...just say THANK YOU. I just try to say that to those I see in uniform and all I simply say is "Thank you" and nothing else. They look at me and know my intentions and smile and say "You are welcome." So whether you agree or disagree with the current status of today's political world, remember that regardless they are still getting dressed in their uniform and tying up their laces to protect you each and everyday.
Ok enough on that...EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH!
Love ya
LeAnna, Matthew, and Patrick
