So it was daycare, but it will be where he goes to pre-school - and every morning we say we are going to school.....to Patrick - IT IS SCHOOL!
It went off without a hitch. Matthew and I both brought him on his first day. We intentionally planned on being there when they opened so we would have plenty of time to say any extra goodbyes and take in everything we needed to learn so that our morning routine would run smoothly. Luckily for us Patrick decided to take a nippy nap 15 minutes before we headed out the door so he was soundly asleep in his carrier in his new crib when we left...that made it easier on mom for sure...if he would have given me that precious grin and laugh you would have had to pry me away! LOL!
So I was really good and called only once. He had just woken from a nap and not too happy because they were taking a bit longer than he thought they should in getting him his bottle. As soon as the clock struck 4:30 PM I was out the door and on my way to pick him up. When I arrived he was sound asleep in one of his teacher's arms as she gently rocked him. She asked if we rock him to sleep....of which I said "NO!" I can already see my hard work over the last 12 weeks thrown out the window! Don't get me wrong...we rock Patrick a lot....but we don't rock him to sleep....only until he is drowsy or calms down if upset. We place him in his crib semi asleep on purpose...it helps him learn how to put himself to sleep. He has mastered this without crying himself to sleep just fine. So tomorrow I am going to emphasize...don't rock to sleep!
However, all in all he did great and they raved on what a great baby he is. So we survived.
This week Matthew and I are going to go together to drop off...but in the future Matthew will drop off and I pick up.
So it is official....my child goes to daycare and I am a working mom. Sigh.....
Thanks for checking in!
Love ya

Your child is LOVED and you are a GOOD mommy!!!! Don't think anything else. I'm so glad things went so well.... sounds like a wonderful place for Patrick to have fun during the day!
Sounds like your little man thinks people at "school" don't do things as good (and fast) as Mom and Dad, but that "school" isn't so bad. That's great!
