wholly smokes...

After eating dinner tonight, Matthew asked Patrick if he would like to sit down with him to watch their favorite cartoon - Tom & Jerry. As they were getting settled in the recliner, Patrick spouts off "R-E-D that spells red." Matthew asked him to repeat what he said. Again, he spelled "R-E-D" that spells red." We couldn't believe our ears...for we haven't worked with him on spelling. Heck we were just getting over UPPER case letter recognition. When I asked him where he learned that from. He smiled a big ol' smile and said "School." I can't believe how much he changes everyday. His mind is growing by leaps and bounds...and so are his legs! I can't wait to see what his future holds - I just hope it continues to be as bright as the smile that lights up his face.

Thank you to our dear, wonderful, and merciful LORD for placing such an angel into our hearts and lives. Words can't express how truly LUCKY we are to be chosen to be his parents.

My niece did that to us. She was in the car with my mom and dad and pointed to an interstate sign and read "baton rouge". It was just the start of an explosion of reading. I love watching them when they think learning is so much fun!
