Since I last wrote we have been - to our first soccer game of the season, celebrated my dad's birthday, soccer practice again, race car and gator driving, and another soccer game with a visit from Uncle Charles and Aunt Mae Mae and two more games since then! Yes we have been busy bees around our little house hold. (I can't believe I haven't posted in almost a month!).
OH, and we have changed our minds about what we want to be for Halloween. We started off with wanting to be a chef....so I set out and found a real chef jacket for him. Thinking I was so done, I was thrown a curve ball. Seems on the way to school one Wednesday morning, Patrick informed his dad that he wanted to be a pirate for Halloween. Captain Hook to be exact. So I ran to Old Navy and snatched up a Pirate costume that was cute and cheap (in case our minds change before October 31st!)...however, I guess the good ol' folks who design these things don't take into account that not all of the good ol' US of A enjoys true fall weather...so we are praying for a low humidity and quite cool night as his costume is polyester - jacket, hat, and all!
We made a quick trip down to see my family and celebrate my niece's eighth (I am still in shock!) birthday last Friday. However, our trip was cut short by Patrick waking up this Saturday morning at 2 a.m. with a fever. So on the road by 3:30 in morning, a trip to the after hours clinic and the good news is that we had strep and not the flu (H1N1 or the Regular)...so a penicillin shot later and a bunch of TLC we were on the road to recovery. Sorry Katherine for missing your birthday party. We hope it was a good one!
After this morning's soccer game (which we did not play in because we were a little distracted by a blue eyed blonde on the team who knew how to get to his heart - feed him yogurt covered raisins!) I got the Fall decorating fever. I headed down to the local farmers market purchased my 3 bales of wheat straw and a few pumpkins. Patrick helped me set things by using his "big muscles because I am strong!" along with his dad. We headed this afternoon over to the local Pumpkin Patch where we met more of our friends for a hayride over to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins. We had a blast! Hope everyone is doing well!
Thanks for checking in on us!
