Today's Update...

Good news or bad news first?

Well let's just get the bad stuff out of the way so we can focus on the good, O.K.?

Bad News - The hematoma has gotten bigger not smaller. Dr. C says another week of minimal activity bed rest and that we are going to take things week by week so she would see me next Monday for a sonogram and visit.

Good News - Baby BOY! is doing fantastic. Yes he cooperated this morning (Two glasses of OJ and PopTarts I'm sure helped with that!) and showed the goods. He is measuring right on target...saw his heart (all four chambers - check), his brain, lips, nose, opening his mouth, and so much more. He has a strong heart beat (161 this morning) and seems to really like the breakfast I had as he was moving and grooving. His name will be William (after my paternal grandfather) Thomas (which is the middle name of Matthew's brother Malcolm and his maternal grandfather). We will call him William.

We told Patrick last Tuesday and he was beyond excited. His face just beamed with JOY at the news he was getting a baby brother. We offered up the four first names that we had narrowed things down to and let him pick the one he liked so that he had some part of the process. Thomas had already been decided for the middle name. After listing out the four choices - Matthew, Andrew, Nathan, and William, he quickly chose William.

We are very excited to now be able to call our son by his name and it makes it even more real. We ask for your thoughts and prayers as the Good Lord tries to make sure that I learn how to slow down before our lives get even busier come December...but it will be a busy life filled with love and a whole bunch of testosterone and one we would not change for the world!
