Well They are Gone...

...and I am still here...in the bed.

Matthew and Patrick headed out this morning - destination BEACH. Each year Matthew's dad rents a big house down on the beach for the whole family to gather. This is about the only time during the year that Patrick can visit with his cousins from Atlanta and see his Aunts and Uncles, Papa and Mimi. So they headed out this morning for some beach bumming fun.

My grandmother, bless her heart, came up to make sure I obey the doctor's orders. We are enjoying each other's company as we don't get to visit much often. And while my maw maw is here she is helping me fill up my freezer with some yummy dishes. She brought me my great aunt's cook book (apparently I am the only family member without one and they are no longer in print!) and told me to pick out a few of my favorite things. So I did just that - Eggplant Dressing with ground beef, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Red Beans and Sausage, Stuffed Bell Peppers, and our family famous crawfish fettuccine. I am so grateful for the fact that she could come and help us out so Matthew can enjoy time with his family and Patrick can see his cousins. My senses will be filled with the fresh smells of home - nothing like smelling the holy trinity of cooking simmering in a pot as you begin your cooking. And our family will be able to be blessed with the heart felt meals from home made with a whole lot of yumminess and love!

Monday is the next doctor appointment...praying that things have shrunk and that I will maybe be pardoned from bed rest to house arrest!
