Happy Memorial Day!

It's the one day besides Veterans Day that we remember all of those who have given their lives so that we may enjoy our freedoms...well try explaining today's meaning to a 3 year old...well that is what happened this morning as we went shopping at Kroger.

Preface - We entered the store and immediately picked up a dozen mini cupcakes that were white and had red, white and blue sprinkles. We also picked up a dozen sugar cookies that had white icing with red, white and blue sprinkles. These tasty treats were for our cookout this afternoon with the Robinson's (Mary's family).

Patrick - Mom, whose birthday is it?

LeAnna - It's no one's birthday. Today is Memorial Day. We are celebrating our freedom and remembering those who fought for us.

Patrick - So whose birthday is it Mom?

LeAnna - We are celebrating the soldiers who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom so we can do everything we want to do.

Patrick- So it's the soldiers birthday?

LeAnna - Yes son, it's the soldiers birthday!

To all of those who have lost loved ones who so bravely gave up their life defending our freedom, THANK YOU! To those who served or are currently serving, THANK YOU! Also, please click here to read the true meaning of sacrifice that needs to be remembered each and every day.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day! We enjoyed some yummy food and great company!

Have a great week!
