Uh oh....

So yesterday afternoon around 4 o'clock I get a call from Mrs. Marcie, Patrick's afternoon teacher. It appears that Patrick has rubbed his eye so red that it was concerning her. She said when she asked him what was wrong his reply was 'I got a buggy in my eye.' Upon checking it out she said she didn't see anything but wanted to call me. I asked her to put him on the phone...our conversation went like this

LeAnna - Hey buddy....
Patrick - Mommy, I didn't pee on myself today.
LeAnna - That's great honey. Dad is picking you up today and you can go to the store to pick out your book. Hey buddy...does your eye hurt?
Patrick - Yeah. I mean Yes Ma'am.
LeAnna - Ok. Tell you what, you let Mrs. Marcie wipe out your eye and you can pick out two books.
Patrick - OK. Love you Mommy.

So he let her wash out his eye. Matthew picked him up and said that they think it was sunscreen they had put on him that he wiped in his eye. So they left school and headed to the book store where daddy picked out two books he thought they should buy and Patrick picked out two different books...so they left the store with four! I came home and assessed his eye. We washed it out with cold water but it didn't help the itching....so I headed to Walgreens and got him some allergy eye drops that were safe for three year olds.

Fast forward to this morning - his eye is nearly swollen shut and it has crud all along the bottom lid - mom's diagnosis - PINK EYE! So dad stayed home and took him to the doctor. She said it was either Pink Eye or a bacterial infection and sent us home with drops that would cover both. So dad was able to stay home and have a great day with his little buddy. I joined them for lunch and then headed back to work. When I came home I found out that Matthew had taken our jogging stroller to get fixed - we, I mean he, busted the front tire trying to air it up when we went to the Memphis Zoo last year. Patrick was very anxious for me to change my clothes because he wanted to go 'drive'.....he has a steering wheel on his jogging stroller. So I did just that and the whole family took a nice long walk through the neighborhood...or should I say that Matthew and I took a nice long walk....Patrick drove!

We are looking forward to a fun filled weekend. Our friends, the Ellis Family, are coming up for a visit...and they are packing their crawfish boiling gear along with some fresh crawfish for a good ol' time tomorrow afternoon! We can't wait! We will post pics from our friend filled weekend soon!
