We have been taking Patrick to see Dr. C to get his teeth checked since he turned 1. I was a little paranoid concerned that one of his bottom front teeth was coming out the side of his gums and not the top. So every six months we see Dr. C and his wonderful staff. The first few visits Dr. C would just count his teeth and checked to see that everything was coming in nicely. Well if you remember this post from our last visit in November you will remember that Patrick was such a big boy in laying down and letting the dental hygienist clean his teeth. Fast forward six months....
Today Matthew took Patrick and let's just say he was not the most cooperative patient. He did let Dr. C count his teeth and make sure that we did not have any cavities, but would NOT let them clean them. I think he had in his mind that we had just brushed his teeth and since they were clean there was no since in cleaning them again. All in all we got a great report. No cavities to report.
This afternoon when I picked Patrick up from school his teacher had a funny story to tell me. A couple of weeks back she asked me about a friend he kept mentioning at school. She said "I can't make out the name." I grinned and asked her if it was "Twardin". She said, "Yes. That's it. Who is that?" I explained to her that he now has an imaginary friend he refers to as 'baby' who's name is Twardin. I also explained that 'baby' has a girlfriend named 'Patton' just in case the girlfriend finds her way to school as well. So today she said that during playdoh time all of the sudden Patrick yells out "You get back over here." and bolts out of his chair across the room and acts like he is picking up something. He carries it back over to his chair at the table and says "You stay right here Twardin!" She said it took all she could not to bust out laughing because he was so serious. So I asked Patrick when he got home if Twardin got in trouble today. He said "Yes m'am." I asked what happened to him and he said "He went to timeout." And that was the end of it. However, I think Twardin is showing up a lot at school lately because one of his best friends, Tyler, came home talking about Twardin. His mom (who was aware of who Twardin was because I had let her know about our 'friend') asked Tyler who Twardin was. Tyler quickly replied "He's Patrick's friend." At least it seems that 'Twardin' is being accepted as one of the guys at school! I tell you that boy has some imagination!
Oh, and Wednesday night when I went to check on Patrick and his dad during throne bath time, I poked my head into the bathroom. As Patrick saw me, he yells out with the biggest grin "Hey Honey Pie!" Now where he got this from I do not know. I looked at Matthew and asked him if he told him to say that...and he said "No. He came up with that on his own."
That's the latest in our house....we have some friends coming to visit tomorrow night and Saturday. Aunt Mae Mae and Uncle Charles, we can't wait to see you!
Love
